Owl gift box

In urban landscapes, a large proportion of nocturnal birds of prey have disappeared from a significant part of their natural range. Built-up areas and roadsides have become "ecological traps" for them. Owls are sensitive to bioaccumulation and in particular to certain pollutants such as pesticides, which are used to control mammals.
Role in the ecosystem
The owl's hunting skills enable it to prey on small rodents such as field mice. It is part of our planet's food chain.
