Relaxation is the motto of the koala, one of the world's most sleepy animals. Popular for its cuddly appearance, who wouldn't dream of being able to give it a big cuddle one day? Yet this species is in serious danger of extinction, mainly due to the destruction of its habitat for human purposes.

Role in the ecosystem
Also known as the Australian sloth, the koala sleeps more than 19 hours a day in the comfortable branches of its habitat. Yet it still finds time to feed on 1kg of eucalyptus leaves a day. This activity gives it an important role in the Australian ecosystem, particularly in the forests. Indeed, its droppings serve as fertilizer and bring nutrients to the soil.
